2023 Stage Details Coming Soon
2022 Thule STAGE 3: Kimberley, BC
Dates: September 8, 2021
The Location:
Kimberley, BC is an up and coming hotbed for mountain biking in the region. We first visited this charming community in 2016 with a single stage and we’re back in 2021 with two stages!
The Stage:
The majority of the climbing in this stage happens in the first 8km as you climb all the way up from Kimberley’s Platzl to the summit of Kimberley Alpine Resort! You start on with a pavement rollout before hitting the gravel ski hill climb. We’ll be waiting at the top with the first checkpoint. From there you drop into the biggest descent of the day, with the Musser’s Plateau descent nearly all the way back to the base of the ski hill. This old-school singletrack has some challenging rocky sections and fantastic views. From here you’ll be climbing back up on ski trails to the top of the timed descent on Mr. Toad, dropping 280m to the low point of the course. A short climb will bring you to checkpoint 2. After that, you’ve got plenty of fun rolling singletrack before dropping back down to the finish line in the Platzl, where you’ll find several options for patio beers!
