2016 Singletrack 6: Stage 2

Fernie is a town of legendary tales. Whether it’s the story of Griz, the Fernie Ghostrider or any other local folklore, the stories in Fernie help your imagination awaken. In line with this, Santa Cruz Stage 2 today brought out some great stories. Here are some snippets of what went down today:

The race luckily avoids the potential for an off leash dog to delay the start gun.

Front runner Rotem Ishlay gets a flat before the first downhill, but makes up the time and finishes third in today’s stage (holding onto the top overall standing).

Fernie’s trails show that “tacky” doesn’t mean riders won’t slip out on roots! [ahem – Lazy Lizard… ]

One thing that is not folklore, however, is how great of a host the community Fernie is! As we’re moving on tomorrow to a new area, we want to say the warmest thank you to Tourism Fernie, the Fernie Trails Alliance and all others who rallied to host us! We love this town!
